Homestays
If you wish to experience the local culture and the warm hospitality
of the Sikkimese, you might want to consider staying in a local's
home. Home stays provides a unique opportunity for the visitors
to know and experience local culture and tradition, taste wonderful
local cuisine, spend time with the family and share the traditional
local brew called "chang". The home stays also help local
economy through sharing of benefits from tourism among many families.
Homestays typically include all meals and a comfortable
bed. The hosts will usually provide hot water for washing up. Price
is 250 rupees per person per night. Note that a 10% service charge
will be included.
